The single, most powerful item in every man’s wardrobe, the only thing that will work like a magic pill, is most definitely a great fragrance.
Fragrances have so much potential, and it seems to me that not a lot of guys understand how important they really are.
And let me tell you, they’re a lot more important than you might think.
I can guarantee that a good fragrance will boost your confidence, and make you stand out, no matter how you look.
Why do a lot of guys neglect their fragrance game is beyond me.
Smelling good is so easy.
It literally takes 5 seconds to transform you from just a regular guy into a panty-dropping stud.
The first and possibly the most important thing is that people relate fragrances to memories
The sense of smell is deeply connected to our memory, and certain smells can act as triggers, that’s why you feel happy when you catch a whiff of the body lotion your first girlfriend used or the cologne your father or granddad used to wear.
They instantly trigger something in our brain and make us, magically, travel through time.
Furthermore, fragrances can evoke emotions, which is why certain smells we perceive as pleasant have the power to instantly make us happy.
The whole marketing strategy of every brand in the fragrance industry revolves around triggering certain emotions.
Whether it’s desire, love, power, or lust it doesn’t really matter. The only thing that matters is to relate the cologne to the desired positive emotion.
They know the power of the sense of smell, and they use it to their advantage.
There’s no reason for you not to do the same.
Everybody loves when people around them smell nice
Now, I know that wearing a fragrance just to please other people is not the best reason to wear it, but you can’t deny that it would be pretty amazing if other people thought you smell amazing.
There’s nothing wrong with it.
At the end of the day, we all like to be complimented, don’t we?
Not only do compliments feel great, but they can also boost our confidence. And if fragrances cause compliments and compliments boost confidence, you do the math.
Fragrances boost confidence
When somebody compliments the way you smell, no matter who it is, you instantly feel better and more desirable.
That alone is a damn good reason to up your fragrance game.
Fragrances are the ultimate accessory
They work like a charm. A good cologne is the only magic pill men have, that has the power to make us hotter in a matter of seconds.
If you are not the type of guy to accessorize, if you like to keep your style simple, which a lot of guys tend to enjoy the most, smelling great is the easiest and the most effective way to elevate your style without really changing anything.
No other piece of clothing or accessory has such power.
Only a good fragrance.
No matter how good you look if you don’t smell great, something is missing
Okay, quick storytime
4, 5 years ago, a famous politician and businessman from my country walked by me, with 4 of his bodyguards. He was wearing an expensive suit, Italian leather shoes and I guess his watch was not much cheaper than a brand new car.
Do you wanna know what my first thought was? ‘Damn, so this is how rich people smell’’.
Yes.
I didn’t notice his shoes. I didn’t even see if he was wearing a watch. (he probably was).
The only thing I noticed was how freaking good his fragrance was.
Now, bear in mind that all of this happened within a few seconds. I would have probably studied his entire outfit thoroughly if I had had more time.
The moral of the story is that within those few seconds, the way he smelt left a far more powerful impression on me than anything else about him. And I believe that would be the case for many people.
Without that olfactory aspect, he probably wouldn’t have left such a good impression on me.
A good fragrance is like icing on the cake. Yea, the filling is delicious. It has a rich texture. It just melts in your mouth. But would you ever bring it to the table without the icing on top?
I don’t think so.
It could have so many different, amazingly flavorful layers, but if your first impression was “Where the hell is the icing?” it would ruin the overall impression.
It would just feel incomplete.
Little things make all the difference. Don’t forget that. :)
